Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Cognitive Behavior Therapy can be a very useful treatment for eating disorders and other psychiatric disorders.  It is an interactive type of therapy that involves identifying destructive patterns of thinking or acting, evaluating the pattern of thought or behavior, realizing the consequences of thoughts and behaviors, and learning how to establish positive thoughts and behavior to replace the negative ones.  Cognitive Behavior Therapy may be used alone or in conjunction with medications.
